iPod “godfather” Tony Fadell has unveiled his latest product, a thermostat that adjusts the room temperature based on people’s habits, three years after his shock resignation from Apple.   The former Apple exec who created the iPod and worked on the iPhone has been toiling for the last year and a half in near-total secrecy on making thermostats as cool as the iconic gadgets from Apple. In 2010, Fadell set up his own company, Nest Labs, with former iPhone software manager Matt Rogers, putting together an impressive team of engineers.   In essence, the device programs itself by learning from user behavior, and it does so, “through a combination of sensors, algorithms, machine learning, and cloud computing.” The company said that the device offers tips to help users make energy-saving choices.   “Nest tracks the temperatures you typically set and guides you to more energy-efficient ones, displaying the green Nest Leaf as a reward when you set the temperature to a more energy-efficient setting,” the company said in a statement. “The Auto-Away feature uses sensors to detect when you’re not home, lowering the temperature and saving energy. You can also check Energy History to see how much you saved.” May be some days the will transfer ipod songs to mac just use sensors to know what kind of the music will health to your body. So amazing!     It’s also WiFi-enabled, allowing users to control it from a computer or through your iPhone with an iPhone app (that’s not yet available). In keeping with Mr. Fadell’s iPod past, the device is controlled through one rotating outer ring.   “It was unacceptable to me that the device that controls 10 percent of all energy consumed in the U.S. hadn’t kept up with advancements in technology and design,” Tony Fadell, said. “Together with the team, Cofounder Matt Rogers and I set out to reinvent the thermostat using advanced technologies, high-quality manufacturing processes and the thoughtful design elements the iPhone generation has come to expect. The resulting Nest Learning Thermostat is like no other thermostat on the market. We hope it will not only save money and energy, but that it will teach and inspire people to think more about how they can reduce home- energy consumption.” This is not like ipod converter for mac for just creating apps. For more this will be list in the later Tony Fadell’s blogs.   The company was founded by Mr. Fadell, who serves as CEO, as well as Matt Rogers, another former Apple engineer.Nest Learning Thermostat is priced at US$249. The company hasn’t offered up a release date yet, but it is available for pre-order at the Nest website or through Best Buy.   I assume it learns from what time you walk past the thermostat so it will start warming up before you wake next time.  I can totally see myself stressing over trying to out-game the thing to do what I want…   Nest Labs now employs around 100 staff, including former employees of Apple, Google, Twitter and Microsoft. It has also secured funding from some of the largest venture capitalists in Silicon Valley, including Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Google Ventures and Shasta Ventures. Nest Labs recently unveiled the Learning Thermostat, a home appliance that readjusts the temperature based on the presence of people and their habits.   The device senses movement, so it automatically turns down if people are away from their home for a certain period of time. It also senses when room lights are switched on.   While the still some unknown questions. In my opinion. It’s very cool looking. Definitely a wow compared to any other thermostat I’ve ever seen. But where are the sensors? Does it require placing motion sensors all over your house?  Or does it only know you’re up when you walk past the thermostat?  (Just trying to find hidden costs, I’m a normal people. Now still like do things is to transfer ipod movies to mac and enjoy at anywhere or anytime with the super clear mac. etc.).But here I still looking forward to this invention can change the world again. It will bring the life more colors.
